Boulder Junction Community Sports & Recreation Area
Playground Park
Over the past 3 years, our community along with the Park Board have successfully raised over $320,000 for the installation of our new playground! This coupled with the volunteer effort for the installation and the fundraising efforts for grants and other donations would probably equate to well over $400,000. The power of our volunteers cannot be minimized! Thank you to all who donated and volunteered with the install! We are grateful! The children of Boulder Junction and surrounding areas are also grateful!
Paved Bicycle Trail
The Paved Bicycle Trail runs through the Boulder Junction Community Sports & Recreation Area and is part of the entire Heart of Vilas County Bicycle Trail System. In fact, it was the beginning of this 52-mile magnificent trail system that started over 25 years ago here in Boulder Junction.
If you go South on this trail it will take you by beautiful North and South Trout Lakes. Going North/West through Boulder Junction, headed towards Manitowish Waters there will be an opportunity to encounter our newest addition to the trail, North Creek Loop which is an extension of the trail at Hwy H which provides safe travels along Hwy H. The completion of this “Loop” will be this summer and it will connect with North Creek Rd and rejoin the bike trail again at Hwy M. which will return the biker back to the playground area.
In front of this “Town Park” is the little log cabin housing the Boulder Junction Chamber Office. If you are visiting the area, please stop in and receive a wealth of knowledge from the office staff, plus Boulder Junction Visitor’s Guide, road maps, trail maps, paddling routes and tons of information about what the area has to offer. There are so many beautiful spots to see and trails to follow in the area. You can visit the Chamber website online also for information and ideas for your visit!
Basketball Court
