The Friends of Boulder Junction Parks invite residents and visitors to enjoy a festive winter evening at “Illuminations Night” at the Glide on Saturday evening, January 10th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Boulder Junction Winter Park.
The event will take place at Winter Park in Boulder Junction, ¼ mile East of Lakewood Market on Old Hwy K (County Road K) in Boulder Junction, offering the Glide skating ribbon, the sledding hill and the hockey rink.
This event is offering an evening of casual, family-friendly winter recreation under the lights. Activities include skating the Glide under the lights, pick-up broomball games, warm food and beverages, creating an accessible and welcoming experience for all ages.
No skating experience is required to participate in broomball. For participants’ safety, winter boots or shoes only are permitted on the broomball rink. Brooms and balls will be provided. The use of helmets and wrist guards is strongly advised for all on ice activities, particularly during broomball play.
Food and beverages will include hot baked potatoes with toppings, cookies, hot chocolate, and coffee. All food and beverages are generously sponsored by Lakewood Market.
This is a free community event. Donations will be gladly accepted to support ongoing park improvements and programming. The Glide will be fully illuminated for the evening, and participants are encouraged to bring headlamps or headlights for additional visibility.
Illuminations Night is open to everyone, young and old alike, and is designed to celebrate winter, community, and outdoor recreation in true Northwoods fashion.
The event is hosted by Friends of Boulder Junction Parks.
